Our commitment to providing unique encounters and elevating your trekking experience sets us apart. We go beyond the ordinary to make this journey a true bucket-list adventure. Our carefully crafted itinerary combines reaching Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar with a wellness factor, setting a new standard for trekking experiences. We are proud to be the first and only trekking company to offer this service across the Himalayas.

We have carefully chosen lodges away from bustling village centres and managed by fascinating individuals. Each lodge has its own unique story:

– One lodge features a cultural museum showcasing the local heritage and traditions.
– Another lodge is owned by individuals involved in mountaineering expeditions, providing you with valuable insights into the world of climbing.
– One lodge is even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, adding a touch of intrigue and excitement to your stay.
– Lastly, we have an inn used for scientific experimentation, offering a truly unique and memorable experience.

But our journey doesn’t stop at Everest Base Camp. We also venture to the rarely-visited Ama Dablam Base Camp, allowing you to follow in the footsteps of legendary climbing parties. The trek takes you through Sherpa territory, enchanting villages, and scenic potato and vegetable fields, finally ascending to Namche Bazaar, the heart of the Khumbu region.
As you hike beyond the tree line, the landscape transforms into a striking, awe-inspiring terrain. The magnificent Thyangboche Monastery, with its backdrop of Ama Dablam, Everest, and other snow-capped peaks, will leave you breathless with its beauty.

To top it all off, the hike to Amadablam Base Camp takes you from the treeline to the high-altitude alpine forest and summer grazing pastures. The views of the majestic Maha Langgur range from here are simply stunning.

Join us on this exceptional Everest Base Camp trek, and let us transform it into an experience that goes above and beyond your expectations. We promise you memories that will last a lifetime.

Note: You can pre-book a seat on a direct helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla and return for an additional US$500 per person each way. You will avoid the 4-5 hours drive to or from Manthali. For example – if you decide to book a helicopter seat for both ways – US$1000 extra needs to be added.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal, our airport representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, there will be a thorough briefing about the Everest Base Camp trek, covering important information such as the itinerary, safety measures, and equipment requirements. You can ask questions and address any concerns during this briefing. Your airport trek leader will assist you throughout your stay in Nepal.

Your day will begin with a morning walking tour of Ason, an old spice market in Kathmandu. This bustling market is a vibrant hub of activity, where you can explore the colourful stalls filled with aromatic spices, local produce, and various goods. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere and take in the sights and sounds of this traditional market.
After the Ason market tour, you will visit the ancient Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic square is home to several palaces, temples, and courtyards that reflect Nepal’s rich architectural and cultural heritage. Explore the intricately carved wooden structures, ancient temples, and palace remnants that make this square a significant cultural landmark.
Following the morning activities, you will have lunch in Kathmandu. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 4-5 hour scenic drive to Manthali. This drive will take you through picturesque landscapes, allowing you to enjoy the natural beauty of Nepal as you make your way to Manthali.
Upon reaching Manthali, you will stay overnight to prepare for your early morning flight to Lukla, which is situated at 2,840 meters. Catching this flight will begin your trek to Everest Base Camp. Lukla serves as the gateway to the Khumbu region, and the flight to Lukla offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountains.
Overall, this day will be filled with cultural exploration, scenic drives, and preparation for your upcoming trek to Everest Base Camp. It will provide a well-rounded experience, giving you a taste of Kathmandu’s vibrant markets and historical sites before venturing into the majestic Himalayas.
Note: You can buy a seat on a direct helicopter flight at an additional $500 per person to avoid the 4-5 hours of drive to Manthali.

We’re scheduled to fly to Lukla in the morning. Our trek plan varies based on our arrival time in Lukla. If we reach Lukla early, we’ll embark on a longer 5-hour hike towards the village of Monjo. However, if we arrive in the afternoon, we’ll trek for about 3 hours to reach Phakding village. We’ll spend the night in a lodge at an altitude of 2,650m. These two options account for potential flight delays due to unpredictable weather conditions affecting flights to and from Lukla.

Our day starts with a visit to the National Park Headquarters, offering breathtaking views of Mount Everest and its stunning neighbouring peaks. After soaking in these awe-inspiring vistas, we return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
Our trek leads us on a challenging uphill hike to Khunde, home to the pioneering hospital established by Sir Edmund Hillary. Continuing our journey, we reach Khumjung village, where Hillary’s legacy continues through the school he built and the Monastery housing the legendary Yeti scalp.
Nestled in a broad valley beneath the watchful gaze of Mount Khumbila, revered as the Sherpas’ protector deity, Kunde and Khumjung villages offer a tranquil setting. Tonight, we reside in Khumjung village, perched at 3,790 meters—an exclusive haven as few trekkers choose to stay in this serene locale.

Leaving the serene beauty of Khumjung village, our path leads us off the beaten track towards Phortse village, a delightful stop for a well-deserved lunch. We ascend steadily, reaching the picturesque Mong-La, adorned with quaint tea houses, before descending 350 meters to Phortse Tenga and ascending 200 meters to Phortse village. Watch for the mesmerising Danfe Munals, Nepal’s iconic national bird, along the trail.
Phortse offers a unique perspective of the surrounding peaks and is renowned as the home of the Khumbu Climbing Center. This centre, fostering climbing skills since 2014, boasts an indoor climbing facility inaugurated on 13th June 2019, serving Sherpas and indigenous Nepalese.
Our trek towards Pangboche encompasses undulating terrain, providing captivating views, and takes around two and a half hours, allowing for memorable photo stops. Arriving at Pangboche, we’re welcomed into a long-time friend’s lodge, featuring a charming dining room resembling a mini mountaineering museum. Oxygen bottles, goggles, wooden boxes from Tenzing and Hillary’s 1953 Everest Expedition, and artefacts from subsequent expeditions adorn the space.

Following breakfast, we embark on a less-travelled route towards the awe-inspiring base camp of the majestic Amadablam, a three-hour trek from our starting point. The ascent promises panoramic vistas of the neighbouring peaks, serving as a rewarding spectacle for your climbing efforts.
At Amadablam Base Camp (ADBC), witness the autumn mountaineers’ campsite, an exclusive view during this climbing season. Our team carries a packed lunch from the lodge, ensuring a fulfilling meal amidst this breathtaking setting.
Post-lunch, we descend to the village, mindful of the afternoon winds. Your trek leader will emphasise the importance of layering clothing and having a windproof jacket handy for changing weather conditions.
Upon return, our team prepares a nutritious meal featuring superfoods, aiding in recovery from the excursion and offering essential nourishment for acclimatisation to higher altitudes in the upcoming days. This invigorating five-hour hike concludes the day’s adventure.

Today’s trek is a brief walk to Dingboche. Despite the shorter distance covered, we prioritise your acclimatisation by guiding you towards Nakardzong Ridge. This strategic approach allows for altitude adjustment following yesterday’s ascent to ADBC, surpassing 4500 meters in the afternoon. Coupled with our meticulously prepared meal enriched with superfoods, you’ll find yourself well-acclimatised and invigorated for the journey ahead.
Rest assured, our overnight lodge awaits after this 3 to 4-hour walk, ensuring a comfortable stay in Dingboche.

We have a 20-minute uphill walk to a Stupa with stunning 360-degree views of Mount Makalu 8481 meters, Lhotse 8501, and other ‘smaller mountains (in the Himalayan context). We have an undulating hike for two to two and a half hours with Mount Taboche, 6542 meters, and Cholatse, 6440 meters, on our left before crossing the Khumbu River to stop for lunch at Thuglha, 4620 meters.
We have a steep climb of 45 minutes to the top of Thuglha, where there are numerous “Chortens” memorials in honour of those who perished on Mount Everest. The final stretch of a gentle uphill trek to Lobuche 4900 meters takes about two hours.
Our accommodation at the 8000 Inn offers a serene escape from Lobuche’s bustling main settlement. Recharge all your electronic gadgets here to ensure uninterrupted photo-taking at Everest Base Camp and Kalapathar. Moreover, revel in the luxury of a remarkable hot shower above 5000 meters—a rare treat you’ll delight in sharing with friends and family once back home.
Overnight lodge (5-6 hours walking).

Today marks the fulfilment of a bucket list dream for many—the journey to Everest Base Camp begins. Commencing a 45-minute hike on undulating terrain, we ascend to the Gorakshep-La pass. Over the next two and a half hours, our path follows a lateral moraine, presenting a series of ascents and descents. Amidst this, pause to marvel at the awe-inspiring Himalayan Peaks while ensuring essential rehydration.
Reaching Gorakshep at 5,180 meters, approximately three and a half hours from Lobuche, some trekkers opt for a swift lunch before continuing to EBC. Our attentive staff ensures you have a packed lunch at EBC or whenever hunger strikes. Vigilance is vital on the narrow and occasionally slippery trails—standing on the ‘safer’ side when yielding to fellow trekkers. The journey to EBC consumes roughly two hours, allowing time for observation, reflection, and capturing cherished memories through countless photos before lodging overnight at Gorakshep (5,120m).
The return to Gorakshep spans about 90 minutes, concluding a day packed with adrenaline-fueled adventure and considerable hiking. Expect an early dinner and a well-deserved rest as fatigue sets in for most after this exhilarating expedition.

Kalapathar, translating to “Black Rock,” stands as a viewpoint situated 200 meters higher than EBC, offering an unparalleled 360-degree spectacle of Everest, Nuptse, Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and numerous other majestic peaks. A gradual uphill climb of two hours leads to its summit, followed by a 60-75 minute descent back to Gorakshep. While Everest Base Camp marks the pinnacle for many trekkers, Kalapathar remains an optional yet breathtaking addition.
Continuing our trek on the familiar trail towards Thuglha, we pause for lunch at Lobuche for those who ascended Kalapathar. Alternatively, for those skipping Kalapathar, lunch awaits at Thuglha, the spot we visited two days before our ascent. Choosing the right fork past Thuglha, the trail descends mostly downhill, guiding us to Pheriche—a valley marked by invigorating winds. You’ll marvel at the increased ground coverage as the oxygen-rich atmosphere facilitates a swifter descent. The hike from Thuglha spans approximately two hours, reaching Pheriche at 4,250 meters.

As we descend, the grandeur of towering Himalayan Peaks continues to envelop us, offering an easier appreciation while covering more ground. Take moments to capture these majestic sights through photographs and prioritise hydration to keep energised on the journey.
Returning to the main trail to and from EBC from Pangboche, which diverged through Khumjung and Phortse, our next stop is the captivating Thyangboche Monastery. Here, we’ll indulge in lunch while admiring the serene surroundings.
A steep descent of 650 meters leads us to the convergence point of the Dudh Koshi and Imja Khola rivers at Phunki Tenga. Following this, a challenging 90-minute ascent awaits Kyangjuma, our final destination for the day.
Relax and unwind with a warm beverage and delightful treats from the welcoming bakery. The amiable owners add to the charming ambience at this elevation of 3,650 meters, concluding today’s trek, which spans approximately 6 hours.

We embark on the day’s journey with a gentle 90-minute walk, enjoying the relatively flat terrain that leads us to the vibrant hub of Namche Bazaar. As we bid farewell to Namche, our path takes a thrilling descent, navigating steep trails that guide us past the bustling town towards a towering high suspension bridge.
Exiting the captivating Sagarmatha National Park earlier in the day, we pause for a well-deserved lunch break in the charming setting of Monjo. Revitalised after a satisfying meal, we resume our trek, trekking onwards for an additional two hours. The trail unfolds through picturesque landscapes, offering glimpses of natural beauty and local life, culminating in our day’s destination—the welcoming settlement of Phakding.
As dusk settles in, we find solace and comfort at the Overnight Lodge in Phakding, allowing for much-needed rest and rejuvenation after a day filled with diverse landscapes and memorable experiences.

Embarking on the final leg of our trek, we set out on a three-hour journey towards Lukla. Reflecting on the inception of this adventure, recall the anticipation and excitement at the beginning of this incredible expedition.
As we traverse the familiar trails, take a moment to juxtapose your initial thoughts and emotions with the experiences gained along this transformative journey. Consider the challenges conquered, the awe-inspiring sights witnessed, and the camaraderie formed with fellow trekkers and the dedicated support crew.
Arriving in Lukla, a sense of accomplishment and fulfilment washes over us. Tonight marks the culmination of our trek—a celebration of the unforgettable moments shared with the incredible support crew who have been instrumental in making this journey a success.
The final night brings a festive atmosphere as we come together for a memorable celebration, acknowledging the shared triumphs and creating lasting memories. Our Overnight Lodging in Lukla serves as the backdrop for this night of revelry, offering a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable expedition.
Reflecting on the journey’s evolution, from its inception to this culminating moment, we bid adieu to the trails and embrace the memories that will linger on as cherished souvenirs of this remarkable trek.

We bid farewell to Lukla as we embark on a scenic flight to Manthali, followed by a return journey to Kathmandu, spanning approximately 4 hours. As we traverse the skies, take in the breathtaking vistas that adorn the Nepalese landscape, perhaps reminiscing about the unforgettable trekking expedition and the diverse terrain traversed.
Arriving back in Kathmandu, you’ll have the entirety of the afternoon at your leisure—a perfect opportunity to unwind and reflect on the trekking journey or explore the vibrant city. Use this time to relax, rejuvenate, and perhaps indulge in souvenir shopping, selecting unique gifts for your cherished family and friends.
Whether you opt for a peaceful respite or explore the bustling streets, embrace this moment to savour the memories created during the expedition and soak in the essence of Kathmandu’s culture and charm.
Note: You can pre-book a seat on a direct helicopter flight at an additional $500 per person to avoid the 4-5 hours of drive to Manthali.
